Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) sets up new Headquarters at Tournament Fields
10th December 2007
The popularity of Warwick's newest business park continues to gather pace with the letting of the second largest unit to a national charity for its new headquarters.
Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) has acquired almost 4,000 sq ft at Tournament Court, a prestigious 17-unit courtyard development just minutes from junction 15 of the M40.
Tournament Court is the first phase of the larger Tournament Fields development by Sackville Properties, situated just off the Longbridge Roundabout, on one of the major arterial routes into Warwick. Tournament Fields is adjacent to a major new residential development of some 1,200 homes, and is fast becoming the most successful business park in the region. RDA joins a growing list of companies keen to take advantage of its accessible location and flexible floorplates.
Mike Bracken, Director of developer Sackville Properties, believes Tournament Court's popularity will continue to grow. He said: "It is a reflection of the quality on offer that a charity of RDA's standing has decided to relocate their headquarters to Tournament Court. The high quality, flexible space has enabled the charity to design an environment to suit its specific needs.
"Tournament Court is bringing Grade A office space combined with an extremely convenient location to the marketplace, which is attracting occupiers to Warwick. RDA is the latest to take advantage of Tournament Court's freehold and rental opportunities and the level of interest in the remaining few units remains high."
Warwick's convenient location at the heart of the Midland's motorway network is a significant reason for the development's success. RDA's chief executive, Ed Bracher, cited the location as one of the major factors in the charity's decision to relocate. He said: "Not only did Tournament Court offer us fantastic space in which to create our new headquarters but the location was perfect for the charity and our staff.
"In addition to the superb motorway access, as the development is located on the edge of Warwick it has a distinct rural feel. This was a huge advantage to us as the RDA is used to working in this environment and fits in perfectly with our core activities."
Founded in 1969, RDA is a federation of member groups dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through the provision of opportunities for riding and/or carriage driving. It brings together more than 500 volunteer groups throughout the UK with more then 25,000 adults and children enjoying the benefits of riding or carriage driving every year.
RDA is relocating from their previous headquarters at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire after outgrowing its facilities at the agricultural site. 13 staff will be making the short move across Warwickshire to Tournament Court and many volunteers will visit the office for training and meetings.
Warwick's reputation as a business destination continues to develop due to its central Midland location, transport links, number of quality hotels and the added attraction of its famous racecourse. It is already home to several blue chip companies including National Grid, Conoco Phillips, Volvo and the new European headquarters of Wolseley Plc.
Only four units remain - 4a comprising 4,321 sq ft of space and 4b comprising 4,320 sq ft, which can be combined. Unit 5a is also available, containing 2,513 sq ft of space and 5b with 3,703 sq ft on offer. Units 5a and 5b can also be combined. All of the units are set within a relaxed, landscaped environment. Fully managed, the site offers extensive car parking, LG3 compliant lighting and three pipe comfort cooling.
