A hat-trick of new purchasers for Tournament Court

4th October 2007

Warwick's premier business park Tournament Court has secured a hat-trick of new purchasers to add to its growing professional community.

Consumer Insight has taken two units at Tournament Court, totalling 5,079 sq ft. The market research company will be joined by Axis Property Investment and The Sandpiper Group, meaning that the prestigious development is 63 per cent full.

Tournament Court, by Sackville Developments, comprises 17 self-contained business units arranged around a central courtyard, offering more than 62,000 sq ft of flexible Grade A office space.

Joint agents Richard Fletcher-Brewer, Savills, and Andrew Wall, Wareing and Co., said: "The level of market interest in the development has been overwhelming and is excellent news for Warwick.

These new companies are representative of the kind of high profile client across a range of sectors that is attracted to Tournament Court.

"In less than a year, it has attracted new companies to the area, including Irish owned software company Careworks from Redditch and now Axis and The Sandpiper Group from Leamington Spa and Birmingham. It has also helped to retain local companies such as the National Association of Estate Agents and Consumer Insight, who would have been lost to the local economy if they were not able to source large, contemporary Grade A space for a reasonable price in the town.

"Warwick has a thriving economy, a highly skilled workforce and a University that is among the best in the UK for research. It is fast becoming a top business location and Tournament Court is a testimony to the success that can be achieved by supplying the right kind of high quality, high profile commercial development."

Consumer Insight, Axis and Sandpiper will add to the vibrant and varied business community at Tournament Court. Axis and its partners develop financing packages which result in minimum cash input from investors with low and sometimes no money down deals. The move to Warwick comes at a time of expansion of the Axis team, as well as new sister Mortgage company Brightstar, which sits within Axis' new office space.

The Sandpiper Group is a leading property sector pioneer which has been at the forefront of regeneration in the Midlands for 40 years. Its £400 million property portfolio has included landmark schemes such as Sherborne Wharf and the Chamberlain Group of hotels, as well as countless other commercial and residential schemes.

Meanwhile, Consumer Insight works with companies ranging from large national brands such as Waitrose, Thorntons and Powergen to small niche services, providing tailored market research to guide advertising and brand strategy.

Susan Carter, Consumer Insight, said: "Our client list has been growing and we needed to move to larger offices so that we had the space to expand our team. Since we work with high profile national brands, we also wanted to upgrade to a more contemporary space with high quality fit out and facilities.

"Tournament Court suited our plans perfectly because its attractive courtyard and contemporary architecture fit with our developing business image, while facilities such as comfort cooling and generous car parking make it a convenient and comfortable place to work.

"It also allowed us to move to somewhere that suited our needs and our budget while staying in Warwick, which we were very keen to do. It has a strong business image and easy transport links to the rest of the UK, as well as a lively culture and leisure scene and green countryside, which provides a very high quality of life for staff."

Tournament Court forms the first phase of development of Sackville Developments' Tournament Fields, a 52 acre landscaped site located just minutes drive from Junction 15 of the M40 Motorway.
